The appeal of a still active volcano is a very large crater, which until now is still remove sulfur fumes from its center. In addition, Mount Bromo Sunrise also offers a beautiful view when seen from Mount Penanjakan. Location of Mount Bromo is in the range of four regions, namely Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Lumajang, and the District of Malang, and become part of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.

Our trip start at about 1 am to watch the sunrise event. We departed from Kota Batu Malang, and requires about one hour to arrive at the foot of Mount Penanjakan. Arriving at the foot of Mount Penanjakan Jeep we rented a car and driver who will take us to the summit of the mountain which is also included in the area of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park this. From this summit we will witness the famous Mount Bromo sunrise. This event is adorned by views of mountain peaks are located in National Parks, among others, the peak of Mount Bromo, Mount Batok and Mount Semeru.
By driving a car, did not take long to reach the top Penanjakan. However, due to the steep road, we have to come down from the Jeep and continue the journey by walking, stair climbing high enough as far as several hundred meters. As we climbed the stairs shivering. The wind was blowing cold air cause more so piercing mountains of bones. Fortunately in the surrounding area there are stairs row of small shops that serve hot beverages like coffee and tea, do not forget there are also warm as a snack food. These stalls also provide skullcaps hat and gloves, even renting coats big and bulky for visitors who are not strong against the cold.
After a while we warmed ourselves back up the stairs left. Not long when he got us on top, orange tinge appeared from a distance. We also witnessed a slow sun coloring the sky and revealing beauty top of Bromo.
When the bright sky we fell into our rented Jeep car which then drove us from Penanjakan to Bromo. To reach Mount Bromo, we had to walk through the sea of sand and rocky hills, up towards the summit. The distance that must be taken from a parking area Jeep to the hill rocks far enough, but do not worry because here there are also horses for rent to take us.
As we crossed the ocean of sand we see Pura Luhur Poten Bromo, the temple became a place where the Tengger tribe perform religious ceremonies.
Tengger tribe is the tribal Hindus who lived not far from the national park. According to legend, they are a tribe who isolate themselves in the heyday of Majapahit. For this tribe, Mount Bromo is a holy mountain, and for the sake of god, once a year held a ceremony Yadnya Tenggerese Kasada or Kasodo. Starting from Temple Poten below and continued at the top of Bromo. Through this ceremony the Tengger tribe pleaded abundant harvest or decline the request for reinforcements and cure various diseases. The ceremony of offering sacrifices to the way threw it into the crater of Mount Bromo by indigenous stakeholders. Meanwhile, another Tenggerese down into the crater, catch the offerings being thrown. Metaphorically, it is meaningful offerings that is thrown as a blessing from the Almighty.

Back to our trip to Bromo, after passing through the sea of sand and rocks to climb the hills once again we had to climb the stairs to the top of the mountain. At the top, we were treated to views of a central crater that still produce sulfur smoke. Crater center is located very deep and far from the site visitors, so that the sulfur smoke produced is not too dense and does not interfere with visitors even though the mountain is still active. On top lip there is a safety fence so that the visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Bromo crater and take a picture with a safe
